Braves under 12's win at Eat Hull
On a warm Friday night Beverley kept their unbeaten start to the season in tact with a hard fought win against East hull
Beverley got off to the perfect start when after some early pressure quick passing along the line created a gap in the East Hull defence for Kian Brown to force his way over for an early opening try which was converted by Will Parkinson. If Beverley thought this was going to be easy though they were quickly reminded of the quality of their opponents. From the kick off Beverley spilled the ball and East Hull made the Braves pay dearly with a converted try to level the scores.
Both teams then settled into the game with the deadlock only being broken when Beverley where awarded a penalty on the East Hull 20 metre line, from the tap Tom Rea took the ball at pace to go over, the try was again converted by Will Parkinson. This proved to be the final score of a tight fiery half.
Beverley again started the second half strongly and following a barnstorming run from Sam Davies Beverley quickly passed the ball from right to left for Ryan Westerman to score in the corner. Again though Beverley let East Hull straight back into the game and conceded a try brilliantly converted from the touchline making the score 16-12 with 10 minutes to play.
In this seesaw game Beverley scored next when Jack Charles weaved his way over to go in under the posts, Ryan Westerman converted, but with East Hull again scoring soon after a Beverley try the game was only finally settled when Alex Argent-Moss took the ball and sped over for the final try to make the final score 26-16 to Beverley.
A tough night for the boys but they earned the victory by sticking together and concentrating on playing rugby. Man of the Match was Tom Rea.
