Braves Comeback Strongly to Draw With West Hull
In an entertaining end to end game Beverley fought back from a half time deficit to earn a well deserved draw.
Beverley started the game strongly putting pressure on the West Hull line from the outset and having gone close in their first set they scored off the second. The try involved the whole team with slick passing from the left wing to the right and whilst this attempt was held up short a quick play the ball saw the ball come all the way back to the left wing and with the West Hull defence stretched Oliver, with John in support, went over. Ryan converted the try. The rest of the half though was dominated by West Hull who made Beverley pay for a number of handling errors and a few missed tackles scoring three converted tries.
The second half was a different story and a great team defensive effort kept West Hull scoreless, the whole team defended well, led by Sam in the middle supported by Aaron, Max and Alex. In attack Beverley put sustained pressure on the West Hull line going close on a number of occasions. The West Hull line was eventually cracked when Alex took the ball up to the half way line and managed to offload the ball in the tackle to Joe who sprinted down the wing to go over, Jack converted.
Beverley continued to take the ball up strongly with Sam, Tom,Kian, Charlie and, on debut, Will F all making good yards, with Aaron and Ted providing good ball from dummy half West Hull were put under a lot of pressure. The third try for Beverley came following a good kick from Ryan which West Hull put dead giving Beverley a tap on the twenty, Tom took the ball in first followed by Will F, from the play the ball Aaron quickly passed it to Will P who beat three players to go over, Jack successfully converted.
A great game with both teams showing great commitment ended in a draw. Aaron was man of the match .
